La Trobe University Announces $200k Scholarship In Honour Of Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood’s superstar Shah Rukh Khan received an honorary doctorate from Melbourne based La Trobe University for his great achievements. The King Khan was awarded on August 9 at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, in recognition of his efforts towards underprivileged children, women empowerment through MEER Foundation, and his contribution to the entertainment industry.

La Trobe University took down to Instagram to make the exciting announcement of a new $200k PhD Scholarship in honour of Shah Rukh Khan’s advocacy for women’s empowerment with his MEER Foundation.

They wrote: “Shah Rukh Khan received a true Australian welcome for the conferral of his honorary doctorate today. We’re excited to announce a new $200k PhD Scholarship in honour of Mr Shah Rukh Khan’s (@iamsrk) advocacy for women’s empowerment with @meerfoundationofficial. The scholarship will provide a life-changing opportunity for an aspiring female researcher from India to make a meaningful impact in the world”

Meanwhile, La Trobe is the first Australian University to award Khan with an Honorary Doctorate letter.
