Guru Randhawa extends financial aid to Assam Floods 2026 victims with Rs 5 Lakh donation

Assam is facing one of its toughest humanitarian crises due to the Assam Floods 2026. Heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers have caused widespread destruction across several districts, leaving thousands of families displaced and in urgent need of food, shelter, medical care and other essential supplies. As relief efforts continue, several celebrities and public figures have stepped forward with financial assistance and support. Punjabi singer-songwriter Guru Randhawa has now joined the growing list of contributors by donating ₹5 lakh towards the Assam Flood Relief Fund.

Guru Randhawa donates Rs 5 Lakh for Assam Floods Relief 2026 

Guru Randhawa's personal contribution of Rs 5 lakh has been channelled through digital influencer Dimpu Baruah to ensure quick, transparent and effective distribution of relief to people in the worst-hit areas of Upper Assam. Dimpu Baruah and his team at the Hello Life Foundation have been actively leading relief work on the ground. The organisation has already raised more than ₹16.64 lakh through public donations and plans to visit flood-affected regions in mid-August 2026 to distribute food, clothes, medicines and other essential supplies to affected families.

Flood Situation in Assam

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, as of August 2, 2026, the floods have claimed 82 lives. While the flood situation has shown signs of improvement, around 1.78 lakh people across seven districts continue to be affected. Relief agencies and volunteers are working continuously to help communities recover from the disaster and rebuild their lives.

Guru Randhawa's Message

Speaking about the crisis, Guru Randhawa said, "The devastation in Assam is heartbreaking, and we cannot let our brothers and sisters fight this crisis alone. While rescue teams and administrative authorities are doing their best, I appeal to everyone nationwide to pitch in and support the recovery."

Continued Commitment to Humanitarian Causes

Guru Randhawa has consistently supported relief efforts during national emergencies. During the 2025 Punjab floods, he established relief camps in Dera Baba Nanak and Dharowali, provided cattle feed, financed the rebuilding of damaged homes and distributed premium wheat seeds to affected farmers. Earlier, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he donated ₹20 lakh from his personal savings to the PM-CARES Fund while also supporting education and youth welfare initiatives.

Celebrities Join Hands for Assam

Guru Randhawa's contribution is part of a larger nationwide effort. Celebrities including Kartik Aaryan, Aamir Khan, Ananya Birla, Ayushmann Khurrana, Randeep Hooda, CarryMinati, Gautam Adani, Sajjan Jindal, Badruddin Ajmal, Triggered Insaan and Aaryan Kelvin have also extended monetary assistance and essential supplies for flood relief, reflecting a collective commitment to helping Assam recover from the devastating floods.
