As the nation witnesses a heavy monsoon season this year, a medium flood alert has been issued in more than 250 villages of nearly eight districts of Punjab. Several places in Punjab and Haryana reported floods on August 18, after there was continuous rain in the region.

With heavy rains lashing northern parts of India, people are being evacuated from the flood-alerted regions. Residents of dozens of villages have been moved from the low-lying areas to safer places.

Meanwhile, celebrities from Punjabi industry are sharing helpline numbers for their followers to help those who are stuck there. Celebs like Ammy Virk, Nisha Bano, and Neeru Bajwa among others took down to Instagram to share the helpline numbers with their followers.
