Republic Day 2023: List of patriotic films you should watch this Republic Day

Republic Day news: The entire nation will celebrate the 74th Republic Day on January 26, 2023. Republic Day marks the day in 1950 when the Indian Constitution came into action.

The Government of India Act of 1935 was replaced as the law governing the nation by the 1949 adopted constitution. It was at this time that India won its independence from the British in 1947 which was a challenging battle back then.

Every year, a large procession in New Delhi honours Republic Day. One can also watch a patriotic movie after watching the amazing parades.

Further, talking of patriotic movies that an individual should watch this Republic Day:

1)Swades

The movie can be watched on Netflix. The film shows Shah Rukh Khan playing the role of Mohan Bhargav, a non-resident Indian who travels back to his native country in search of a woman who raised him and is eager to know where he truly belongs to. The 2004 movie was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and the movie was awarded in a lot of events. Next on the list is

2) Raazi

The movie can be watched on Amazon Prime Video. The film is about a character named Sehmat (Alia Bhatt) who is a young woman, who is a secret Indian agent who marries a Pakistani military family to gain intelligence information.

3) URI: The Surgical Strike

The film can be watched on ZEE5. Th movie is inspired by India's retaliatory attack on terror launchpads in Pakistan after four terrorists attacked an Army base in Uri, Jammu & Kashmir in 2016. In the attack in Uri, 19 members of the Army died. The lead was played by Vicky Kaushal after which he received several awards for it.

4) Border

The movie depicts the hardships of war and the bravery of the soldiers. The movie starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff and many others. The film is based on the-life events of the Longewala battle during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war.

5) Lagaan

The film can be watched on Netflix. It revolves around villagers in Central India where in 1893, they play a cricket match against the Britistoto excuse themselves from taxes. The movie starred Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh playing the key roles. The movie was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.

6) Rang De Basanti

In this movie, there is a group of young people in a documentary about Indian liberation warriors and the experience further turns them into rebels with a cause.

7) Shershaah

The movie can be watched on Amazon Prime Video. It is about Captain Vikram Batra who lost his life in the 1999 Kargil War. The soldier received the Param Vir Chakra which is India's highest honour. The movie has also received several awards for the same.
