‘Saand Ki Aankh’ Gets Tax Exemption In Rajasthan. Deets Inside

Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ has been exempted from the state Goods and Services Tax (SGST) in Rajasthan. The government of Rajasthan has approved the proposal of exempting SGST from upcoming film ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ in the state.

The film is based on the real story of two elderly women, from village Johri in Uttar Pradesh who struggled hard to learn the art of shooting. Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on October 10 exempted the tax from the film as the film promotes women empowerment.

Meanwhile, the film is Jagjeet Sidhu, Punjabi writer-director's first Bollywood project as screenplay writer.

Hearing the news, Taapsee took to Twitter to express her happiness and thanked Rajashthan CM Ashok Gehlot for approving the proposal.

She wrote, "Thank you so much sir this gives us so much encouragement and strength to keep moving ahead in the direction of empowerment. Your support is extremely valuable in this journey."

Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film also features Prakash Jha, Vineet Kumar, and Shaad Randhawa in important roles. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 25.
