Saturday Flashback: These Rare Videos Of Surjit Bindrakhia Will Make You Nostalgic

Punjab is known for producing some of the singing legends like Babbu Mann, Gippy Grewal, Gurdas Mann and Diljit Dosanjh among others. Among them there was a voice of Surjit Bindrakhia which created havoc in Pollywood industry during 90’s.

Bindrakhia, who started out as a `Bhangra' artiste, switched over to Punjabi songs in 1991-92 and sung over 250 songs, including 12 Punjabi films. He became popular with his Punjabi album `Munda Ki Mangada'.

He became a house-hold name in Punjab with popular hits such as "Tere vich tu ni tera yaar bolda'', ``Dupatta tera satrang da'', and "Lak tunu tunu''.

Bindrakhia, who breathed his last in 2003, was a versatile singer and is still remembered as a trendsetter in Punjabi folk singing.

Surjeet Bindrakhia died in his sleep following a cardiac arrest. He was 42.
