Following the success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is on cloud nine. Jersey and the mythical Karna are in the works, as are two web projects: a program with Raj and DK, and a digital-only feature film with Ali Abbas Zafar.

While the news of Ali and Shahid's relationship is widely circulated, few are aware that the film is an authentic adaptation of a French thriller. "Ali obtained the rights to adapt Nuit Blanche (Sleepless Nights in English), a film starring Tomer Sisley," according to the source.

The 2011 action movie followed the life of a cop whose underground connections are revealed when they attempt to steal cocaine from a prominent drug lord, putting his child's life in jeopardy. The rest of the story is about how he saves his child. Shahid will mostly play a cop attempting to save his daughter who has been kidnapped as a result of his tryst with a criminal or drug lord. The film has been somewhat adjusted to reflect the Indian mindset.

The source goes on to say, "It's a story that takes place over the course of a single night. It's about a single night and Shahid's character's battle to safeguard his kid from everyone. It's a well-crafted thriller aimed at a digitally savvy audience, and it'll be Shahid's second appearance on the web. For the major female lead, a great actress is now being scouted."
