Sidhu Moose Wala posthumously honoured with Dada Saheb Phalke Iconic Award

Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29, was posthumously honoured with the Dada Saheb Phalke Iconic Award. Afsana Khan and her husband Saajz received the award on the behalf of Sidhu.

It was announced that the Dada Saheb Phalke Iconic Award is being handed over to Afsana Khan and her husband Saajz on behalf of late singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

After receiving the award on behalf of Sidhu Moose Wala, Afsana Khan sung '295' song and even did the signature 'thaapi' to pay tribute to the late singer.

This is one of the other milestones that Sidhu Moose Wala achieved posthumously. Its been almost two months since the singer died and yet his fans and admirers couldn't believe that he was no more.

His songs are still being played on a loop and, just as the singer's parents requested, people are keeping him alive in their hearts.

May 29 was a 'black day' for Punjab as Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead broad daylight in the Jawaharke village of Mansa district.

Sidhu was travelling in his jeep with two of his associated when some assailants stopped his car and ambushed him. As per the autopsy, the singer had suffered as many as 24 bullet injuries and one of the bullets was recovered from his skull.
