SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' makes it to BAFTA nominations' longlist

The longlists for BAFTA's 2023 Film Awards have been announced, and one nomination has been awarded to SS Rajamouli's masterpiece RRR. RRR has received accolades and nominations at numerous prominent award ceremonies, winning admiration on a global scale.

Now that it has been nominated for a British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), the movie starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR has been included to the longlist. It has gained a position under "Film Not In English Language'". Also receiving a longlist nod in the "documentary" category is Delhi-based Shaunak Sen's film "All That Breathes."

On the other hand, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt, has received no nominations despite campaigning at the BAFTAs since last month. Bhansali promoted Gangubai Kathiawadi overseas in front of several international awards committees. The film also launched its campaign in major categories at the BAFTAs and Academy Awards. In November, he also participated in a BAFTA Masterclass where he spoke about his career and filmmaking process.

While campaigning at the BAFTAs since last month, Alia Bhatt's historical drama Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, hasn't received any nominations. Before various international award panels, Bhansali promoted Gangubai Kathiawadi internationally. The movie also kicked off its campaign in some significant categories at the BAFTAs and Oscars. He spoke about his career and the filmmaking process during a BAFTA Masterclass he took part in November.
