Madhya Pradesh government declared ‘Thappad’, a Taapsee Pannu starrer flick tax free on February 25. The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha and narrates the story of domestic violence. The film will release on February 28.

As reported by one of the authorities of Commercial Tax Department, the film has been declared tax free because of its subject and the message it delivers to the masses who watch it. Meanwhile, the single screen cinema halls and multiplexes have been requested not to take SGST on the tickets.

Watch the trailer of the film here.

In the film, Taapsee Pannu plays the role of an educated and a loving house maker who is slapped by her husband and begins a fight against domestic violence. ‘Thappad ‘is an impactful film which will make one feel uncomfortable and angry at the same time over the issue of a slap.

Apparently, the film shows the mindset of the society where a slap is not considered a part of domestic violence; it is just a mere slap. It also makes the viewers question the everyday misogyny that people voluntarily adjust to in real lives.
