Bandi Chhor Divas which means the ‘Day of Liberation’ is a Sikh holiday which coincides with the day of Diwali. In late 20th century, Sikh religious leaders started marking Diwali as Bandi Chhor Divas, and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee adopted this name along with the Nanakshahi calendar in 2003.

Bandi Chhor Divas celebrates the event when sixth Sikh Guru ‘Guru Harigobind Singh Ji’ was released from prison by Mughal emperor Jahangir along with other 52 Hindu Kings.

Known with his nick name ‘Tan Dhesi’, Tanmanjeet Singh took to twitter to share an image of him wherein a beautiful firework can be seen in the background.
