The Accidental Prime Minister Gets Clearance, To Release In Pakistan

Anupam Kher’s latest release, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ has been cleared for release in Pakistan with minor cuts, Pakistan's Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) said on January 15. The film will release in the country on January 18.

Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ is based on a book on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, written by Sanjay Baru, who served as the media advisor of Manmohan Singh from 2004 to 2008.

In the film, Anupam Kher portrays the character of India’s ex-PM Manmohan Singh while Akshaye Khanna is playing the role of author Sanjay Baru.

Besides in Pakistan, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ will release in Tamil and Telugu in India on January 18.

Meanwhile, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ has managed to earn over Rs 12 crore on its opening weekend.
