While interacting with media, Varun Dhawan said, “I think it’s a wonderful initiative and now so many initiatives have started all across India. India is known for its rich culture and beautiful people." He further added, “It’s high time that we start taking care of mother nature, which is part of our culture as Ayurveda is known from India and I think #SaveTheBeach is a beautiful initiative where so many powerful women have come together to make sure that we can achieve a lot more than this."

The actor installed a plastic-bottle-crushing kiosk at the beach and also appealed to everyone to avoid the use of single-use plastic to fight pollution. Varun also actively participated in a Nukkad Natak with the volunteers. The act was to spread awareness and highlight the issue of #beatplasticpollution. The Nukkad Natak group also spoke about the fishermen who find 20% fish and 80% plastic in their nets daily.
