Veteran Bollywood Actor, Comedian Dinyar Contractor Dies At 79

Veteran Bollywood actor- comedian Dinyar Contractor, known for playing a casino Manager in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Baashah’, a principle in ‘Khiladi’, and Mr. Lobo in ‘36 China Town’, passed away on June 5 due to age-related ailments. He was 79.

The actor was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, on Republic Day this year.

Dinyar Contractor started acting in school and began his professional acting career in 1966. The veteran comedian is an acclaimed theatre artist.

Besides in films, he appeared in various TV shows like ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’, ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’, ‘Dil Vil Pyar Vyar’, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ and many others.
