Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman Is New 'Meme King' Following His Hilarious ‘Slog - Sweep’ Against India
Rohit Sharma-led team India thrashed their arch-rivals for the second time in the ongoing Asia Cup in UAE on September. Team India registered their biggest ever victory over Pakistan in limited overs cricket. They won the Super 4 encounter with 9 wickets.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan struck centuries to hand victory to their team with over 60 balls to spare.
For Pakistan, veteran batsman Shoaib Malik was the highest run scorer with 78.
However, it was not Rohit, Dhawan or Malik who stole the limelight on social media for their amazing performances. Pakistan's opening batsman Fakhar Zaman ruled the internet for his slog-sweep attempt against Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
Zaman, who came to open the innings with Imam-ul-Haq, tried to clear the fielder with his slog-seep during the 14th over. However, he failed and ended up lying on the ground and was also given out lbw by the on-field umpire.
Zaman's unusual shot left everyone confused and people started creating memes as soon the incident went viral on social media.
Some said that the cricketer made an attempt to contribute to the 'Swach Bharat Abhiyan' while others compared it with the popular dance move of Rekha in 'Umrao Jaan' and said that Fakhar is giving a tribute to Salam-E-Ishq stepm from this Bollywood movie.
