For the first time ever, Punjabi cinema gets experimental and introduces the concept of triple role. Babbu Maan will be playing the triple role in his upcoming Punjabi movie ‘Banjara- The Truck Driver’ for the first time. The film is directed by Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation award winner, Mushtaq Pasha. Punjabi actor will be playing the role of the grandson, son, and grandfather in the young avatar of their respective times therefore we won’t see his ageing. The film will highlight eras of 1947, 1984 and 2018 showing love interests of three generation in their young ages.
“Banjara-The Truck Driver” is a comeback project of Babbu Maan, who was last seen in Baaz in 2014. Pasha, who is an alumnus of Punjab University, has done many Punjabi films ‘Viyah 70 km’ and ‘Main Tu Assi Tussi’ are a few to name.
Mushtag Pasha wanted to experiment with the storyline and after a lot of thought they decided to have all the characters in the prime of their lives. Babbu will be seen in a young getup in every role he plays. Moreover, it was also the demand of the script, as it will show three stories of three different eras.
Babbu Maan was invited by Google corporation on 16th August, to participate in an interactive session with employees at the Google premises. The Punjabi actor shared the video on his social media account and quoted it as:
“Thanks Google for Showing unconditional love 🙏 iss naa cheez noo inha maan bakshan lai Shukria.
