Pankaj Tripathi’s brother attacked amid land dispute, accused arrested

Actor Pankaj Tripathi's brother was injured after he was allegedly attacked with an axe during a land dispute in their ancestral village in Bihar's Gopalganj district, police said on Monday.

The incident took place late on Sunday evening in Belsand village under the Madhopur police station area. According to police, Bijendra Nath Tiwari was attacked during an altercation related to a land dispute.

Additional Director General (Law and Order) Sudhanshu Kumar said that the victim suffered injuries in the attack and was provided medical attention. The main accused has been arrested, and the axe allegedly used in the assault has been recovered by the police.

Pankaj Tripathi, one of Bollywood's most respected actors and a National Film Award recipient, hails from Belsand village in Gopalganj district. Born as Pankaj Tiwari, he is the youngest of four children of Pandit Benares Tiwari and Hemwanti Tiwari.

The actor's brother, Vijaynath Tiwari, leads a simple life as a farmer in the family's ancestral village. Despite Pankaj Tripathi's success in the film industry, his family has largely stayed away from the spotlight and continues to manage agricultural land in their native village.

As per the reports, police have started an investigation about the incident, and further legal action is underway.
