The day has finally arrived. The day of the Met Gala! 6th of May, 2024 has finally unveiled the most awaited eve of the year and the celebrities surely met the Met Gala fantasy of its timeless theme of 'The Garden of Time.'
Met Gala is one of the most exuberant events of the fashion realm, for more than fashion to be precise, Art! Regarded as the world's most prestigious and glamorous fashion event and social gathering of the global elites, it is an annual fundraising event organized for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in Manhattan. The attendees include dignitaries from the spherical realm of fashion, film, television, music, theater, business, sports, social media, and politics, which is primarily organized by Vogue Magazine, the guest list of which is precisely crocheted by Vogue's Editor in Chief, Anna Wintour.
Unveiling the biggest day of fashion, among the global elites, Indian celebrities rouged the garden theme too. But especially, it was Alia Bhatt who stole the show. The Gangubai actress reached the Vogue event wearing a timeless sari from the house of Sabyasachi and in no time, she made us fall for her look head to toe. Right after making her second appearance in the Met Ball, the actress has taken over her Instagram handle to share glimpses of her presence at the international affair. The pictures radiated her desiness at the global event and people went almost berserk as her sari look has been listed among the top best celebrity look of the Met this year.
Ever since the pictures went online, Alia fans, family, and her Bollywood friends have taken over the comments section to pour her love and respect for representing India with such finesse at the New York extravaganza. Actress Bhumni commented, "Wowwwwwwwwwwwww' and Dhadak actress Janhvi Kapoor shared three fire emojis, followed by Bipasha Basu with a heart and lovestruck emoji. Actor Vijay Varma on the other hand praised her Met avatar and wrote, "drop dead gorgeous" with a flower emoji. On another picture Alia shared, Janhvi wrote, "insane insane insane" added by Sophie Choudry who called her 'Ethereal' with a love emoji. Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar called her "Beauts" with two heart emojis while others called her 'Queen' and fans have surely tagged her as "The Best Dressed Celebrity at Met Gala 2024". Mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor shared her picture on her Instagram story and added a "fabulous" GIF to complement her surreal look.
Designed exclusively by Sabyasachi, Alia ethereal sari paid homage to art and eternity standing stagnant with this year's theme 'The Garden of Time' as it was fully embedded with hand-embroidered florals and garden motifs. It was crafted for a whopping 1905 man-hours by 163 craftsmen. The stunning look surely shows-stopping and captured the attention of the masses, both onlookers and cameramen, and made everyone go gaga as one couldn't help but gasp at her ethereal charm at the Met event. Meanwhile, her couture sari featured an exaggerated train, hand embroidered with silk floss, beads, sequins, and semi-precious stones, and fringed with glass beads with a handcrafted blouse studded with emeralds. Her princessy look was perfectly complemented by a Sabyasachi headpiece and emerald dangling earrings featuring tourmalines, sapphires, emeralds, and old mine cut and brilliant cut EF VVS diamonds.
