Radhika Merchant's Exquisite Wedding Ensemble: A Tribute to Tradition and Elegance
Radhika Merchant, who recently tied the knot with Anant Ambani, wore a stunning creation by the celebrated designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for her wedding ceremony. The ensemble was a modern yet intricate interpretation of 'Panetar,' a traditional Gujarati bridal attire characterized by red and white hues.

Radhika's wedding outfit was an ivory Zardozi cut-work masterpiece, featuring a trailing ghagra that was layered with a second detachable trail, a five-meter head veil, and a tissue shoulder dupatta. The ghagra shimmered with three borders of red, showcasing the finest amalgamation of Naqshi, Saadi, and Zardozi techniques. These were hand-embroidered in intricate floral booties adorned with stones, sequins, tamba tikkis, and a touch of red Resham.

The head veil was a marvel of delicate jaali and cut-work, while the detachable trail extended to an impressive 80 inches, crafted with meticulous Zardozi work. Completing the outfit was a fully embroidered red shoulder dupatta, adding maximal drama to the silhouette.
The blouse, an exquisite piece in itself, featured real gold karchobi work inspired by the traditional abho and the rich textile heritage of Kutch, Gujarat. This design echoed the artistry of the late 19th century, adding a historical touch to the contemporary ensemble.
Paired with the blouse was a multi-paneled Banarasi brocade lehenga in sunset hues, paying tribute to India’s timeless elegance. The veil, designed with a lattice pattern on a beautiful red base, complemented the attire perfectly, while the dupatta was a Banarasi woven masterpiece.
In a heartfelt nod to family tradition, Radhika wore her sister Anjali Merchant's jewellery for the wedding. This included a choker, polka earrings, a maangtika, and a haathphool. Radhika had previously worn Anjali's polki set for Isha Ambani's wedding reception in 2018, and for her own D-Day, she chose to re-wear her sister's jewels, leaving everyone in awe of her timeless and sentimental choice.
Radhika Merchant's wedding attire and jewellery beautifully blended tradition, family heritage, and exquisite craftsmanship, making her wedding day an unforgettable celebration of elegance and cultural richness.
