Kangana Ranaut in Emergency: After her 'Dhaakad' performance, Kangana Ranaut is all set to portray the role of most influential and powerful women of Indian political history-Indira Gandhi in her upcoming directional 'Emergency'.

Kangana Ranaut who has been in the works for the film since quite long has finally unveiled the first glimpse from the film. The actress didn't shied away to share the promising teaser of the film on her social media accounts.

In the short video, Kangana replicates the late PM's persona, down to the crisp white cotton saree and the glasses.

It is still too early to predict if the actress how she will reflect the era that is frequently referred to as the "darkest hour" of Indian democracy. Kangana has been cautious to highlight that the movie is not Gandhi's biography.

Kangana is seen in the video receiving a call from former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who is requesting that Kangana be addressed as "Ma'am" rather than "Sir" by American President Richard Nixon.

Although Emergency is a political drama, the actress has already stated that it is not a biopic of Indira Gandhi. "It is not an Indira Gandhi biography. It is a lavish historical drama. In particular, it is a political play that will aid in my generation's comprehension of the socio-political climate of contemporary India.

Emergency movie cast, crew and shoot detials

The film sees Kangana Ranaut as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and surely she leaves no stone unturned to delve into the character.  Kangana Ranaut's transformation is performed by David Malinowski, an Oscar winner who has worked on movies like The Batman, Darkest Hour, and World War Z.

The film is being helmed by Kangana Ranaut whereas it is produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut. Meanwhile, the story is written by Kangana herself and the screenplay is done by Ritesh Shah.

As announced by Kangana, the shooting of the film began recently.
