Brahmastra: Director Ayan Mukerji released a brand-new inside video on Wednesday in celebration of Guru Purnima that introduces viewers to the mythology of his upcoming film, Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna. The fantasy epic introduces viewers to a brand-new domestic superhero and draws inspiration from Indian mythology.

According to Ayan, the movie is based on the idea of "astras" or The Astraverse. They contain asteroids like vanarastra, nandi astra, prabhastra, jalastra, and pawan astra, which have natural energies like fire, earth, wind, and water.

The movie "begins with an image" of a group of gurus utilising the "Brahm shakti" while meditating in the mountains. As a "secret society," these sages—who go by the name Brahmansh—have been hiding over history, aiding mankind as it matures and progresses.

The Brahmastra, however, which contains the essence of all astras, is considered to be the greatest astra. The movie begins in contemporary India as Ayan discusses how Brahmastra's influence has been passed down through the centuries. The main character, played by Ranbir Kapoor, possesses the power of the strongest "astra," the fire "astra." As the first of a trilogy, Ayan claims, "I believe this makes our movie very distinctive." Alia portrays Isha, and Ranbir will be seen as Shiva.

Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy, and Amitabh Bachchan are also seen in Brahmastra. The antagonist in the film is being played by Mouni Roy who also marks her Bollywood debut. The movie is set to release in theaters on September 9 that will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
