The trailer of Farhan Akhtar starrer 'Toofaan' is out. The film showcases the story of a local goon who turns his life with boxing. In the film, Farhan Akhtar is seen playing the character of 'Aziz Ali' who aims to become Amitabh Bachchan of the boxing world.
The sports drama 'Toofaan' also stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal as main leads. The trailer begins with Mrunal's character's happily reading the news of lifting the Fiver-year ban of boxing of Farhan's character. The video then shows us his journey from Ajju bhai, a goon from Dongri, to Aziz Ali aka ‘Toofaan’, a respectable boxer. In the movie, Paresh Rawal is seen as Farhan's coach.
However, Farhan’s character is shown to be tainted by an unnamed scandal, after which he was banned from the ring for five years.
For this film, Farhan underwent major physical training to get into the nerves of his character in Toofaan. He said in a statement earlier, “Putting this level of effort is only possible, if the story motivates you to give your best. At the end of the day, we’re not making a film to showcase a great physique, but to emotionally engage the audience with the journey of the character. To make that experience believable, all efforts are worth it.”
The film is helmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and bankrolled by Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar) and ROMP Pictures (Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra).
Toofaan will release on 16th July only on Amazon Prime Video.
