Selena Gomez becomes 1st woman to have 400 million followers on Instagram
Selena Gomez became the first woman to have 400 million Instagram followers, creating history. The 30-year-old pop sensation broke the incredible milestone on March 18, weeks after ousting Kylie Jenner. A little over a month ago, she surpassed Kris Jenner to become the social media platform's most-followed lady. Behind football players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, she currently has the third-highest number of followers on the network.
She posted a number of vintage photos with followers on the photo- and video-sharing website, saying she wishes she could give them all a big hug.

Selena shared a slideshow of pictures with her fans at various performances and events in the past last night on her Instagram page. We can see a younger Selena in the photos, smiling and hugging supporters as they waved various signs in support of her. While sharing these photos, Selena penned, “Wishing I could hug all 400 million of you (white heart emoji)”
The singer is being dubbed "the queen of Instagram" by her thrilled followers, who are pleased at the news. Once a queen, always a queen, one commenter said. "Blessed to be a part of the 400 million," remarked another. "Life rewards good people like you, never allow someone to turn off your light... you are distinct and authentic," stated a third. "500 Million we are coming," added a fourth.
Ms. Gomez is one of just two Instagram users with more followers. Lionel Messi of Argentina, a world champion footballer, has 443 million Instagram followers, while football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has 563 million.
