Producers of various films have postponed a number of releases due to the COVID-19 rise in India. Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur was set to be released on December 31, 2021, was one of them. The makers chose to postpone the theatrical release due to an increase in coronavirus cases in India.
Jersey, a film starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, was the first to be delayed when India's third wave began. Now that the situation is under control, theatres are reopening and filmmakers are announcing new release dates for their films.
On Tuesday, Shahid Kapoor took to Twitter to share the exciting news with his fans and followers. After a year of delays, he revealed that his upcoming sports drama would be released in theatres on April 14, 2022. He penned, “So so happy to announce that our beloved film #Jersey will be releasing worldwide in theatres on the 14th of April 2022. See you in the theatres."
The story centers around Arjun, a 36-year-old cricketer who quit the game ten years ago and now desires to return to the Indian team in order to achieve his son's goal. The film's trailer was released a few months ago, and fans are excited to see Shahid and Mrunal bring the spectacular story to life.
