Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2022: Legendary actor Asha Parekh, who is a veteran in the film industry, is going to be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2020 this year.
Yes, you read it right. Asha Parekh, who is known to have won hearts in her era, is going to be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2020 for her contribution to the film industry.

Asha Parekh made her acting debut with 'Dil Deke Dekho' in 1959 opposite Shammi Kapoor. Earlier, she featured in several films as a child artist with the name 'Baby Asha Parekh'. She featured in 'Maa' (1952) and Baap' Beti' (1954).
Besides, Asha featured in several films and movies throughout her career. These included 'Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai' (1961), 'Teesri Manzil' and 'Do Badan' (1966), 'Kati Patang' (1970), 'Caravan' (1971), and 'Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki' (1978) among others.

Back in the 90s, she featured in just a few films. These were 'Professor Ki 'Padosan and Bhagyawan' (1993), 'Ghar Ki Izzat' (1994) and 'Andolan' (1995).

However, she quit acting and later became a television director with the Gujarati serial 'Jyoti'. Asha produced several serials such as 'Palash ke Phool', 'Baaje Payal', 'Kora Kagaz' and 'Dal Mein Kaala'.
Later in 2008, she judged the reality show 'Tyohaar Dhamaaka' on 9X.
