Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum opens to public after 14 years

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace, which is said to be one of the hidden gems in Amritsar, was converted into a museum and now, it has been opened to the public after 14 years.

Yes, you read it right. Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum has been opened to the public after 14 years of conservation work.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh's 'Summer Palace' is situated in Punjab's Amritsar and showcases the rich cultural heritage of Punjab.

The Palace is situated at a distance of 1.5 km from Amritsar Junction and 4 km from the  Golden Temple. It is a popular museum, situated in the middle of a beautiful Ram Bagh Garden in Amritsar.

It is one of the best museums in Punjab besides one of the top tourist attractions in Amritsar.

Notably, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum was the 'Summer Palace' of the first king of the Sikh Empire, 'Maharaja Ranjit Singh'. It was converted into a museum back in 1977 CE.

It offers insights into the life of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh, displaying the objects related to the Maharaja Ranjit Singh, including arms and armour, paintings, and centuries-old coins and manuscripts.
