What’s Keeping Sonam Bajwa from Bollywood Films? Actor Reveals The Truth
Sonam Bajwa, a celebrated actress in Punjabi cinema, has captured the hearts of many with her outstanding performances and magnetic presence on screen. Despite her success, Sonam has not yet fully ventured into Bollywood, leaving her fans eager to see her in Hindi films.

Addressing this curiosity, Sonam mentioned that she is waiting for the right script. She explained, "I have turned down some films. Recently, I've heard that many people aren't aware that I live in Mumbai. They assume I don't want to work in Hindi films because they think I'm not here. But if a good script comes my way, I'd love to do Hindi films."
Currently, Sonam is busy promoting her upcoming movie, "Kudi Haryane Val Di," alongside co-star Ammy Virk. The film, a cross-cultural drama, explores the worlds of Punjab and Haryana. It is filled with family drama, romance, wrestling, and comedy. The plot revolves around a Punjabi boy who falls in love with a Haryanvi girl. While the boy dislikes wrestling, the girl is passionate about it, and the story follows their journey to find love and how their families come together.
Learning Haryanvi for her role was a new challenge for Sonam. She shared, "This was my first time working in a completely new language. It was difficult, but I'm grateful for the opportunity."
Ammy Virk, who plays the Punjabi man opposite Sonam's character Neelam, expressed his excitement about reuniting with Sonam on screen. The actors have previously worked together in films like "Muklawa" and "Puaada," and their strong friendship enhances their on-screen chemistry. "We've worked together extensively, and it's always a pleasure," Ammy remarked.
"Kudi Haryane Val Di" features an impressive supporting cast, including Ajay Hooda, Yashpal Sharma, Yograj Singh, Hardeep Gill, Seema Kaushal, Honey Mattu, and Deedar Gill. With a unique concept that combines romance, cultural exploration, and elements like wrestling, the film promises to be an entertaining watch. Written and directed by Rakesh Dhawan, "Kudi Haryane Val Di" is set to release in cinemas on June 14, 2024.
