Punjab's Lovepreet Singh wins bronze medal in weightlifting at Commonwealth Games 2022, pays 'tribute' to Sidhu Moose Wala
Who is weightlifter Lovepreet Singh? Punjab-based Lovepreet Singh made the entire nation proud as he won the bronze medal in weightlifting at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 besides paying tribute to the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.
After lifting the weight of 163kg in the snatch round, Lovepreet Singh did the Sidhu Moose Wala's 'signature thaapi' to celebrate. The fans of the late singer believed that Lovepreet has given a tribute to the late singer who was killed in broad daylight in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29.

Notably, Lovepreet lifted a total of 355 kg (163 kg in snatch round and 192 kg in clean and jerk round) to bag the bronze medal.
Lovepreet Singh is a petty officer with the Indian Navy. Born in Amritsar on September 6, 1997, Lovepreet Singh is an Indian weightlifter who participated in the men's 109 kg weight category.

Earlier in 2017, he had won a bronze medal at the Asian Youth Championships and gold at the Junior Commonwealth Championships in the 105 kg category.
