Rahul Gandhi likely to meet Sidhu Moose Wala's parents at Mansa on June 7

The untimely death of Sidhu Moose Wala on May 29 devastated the country, particularly Punjabis. In Punjab's Mansa district, the singer was brutally murdered. Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress president, is expected to visit Punjab on June 7 to see the family of musician Sidhu Moosewala, according to sources.

This comes nine days after the 27-year-old was was shot in Mansa district's Jawaharke village. After Moose Wala's death, Gandhi had previously extended his condolences to his family.

In the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, Moosewala ran as a Congress candidate from the Mansa seat.

Gandhi would meet with Moosewala's parents and convey Congress leadership's condolences. Sources said Gandhi will be accompanied by Punjabi party leaders.

Moosewala's parents had previously been met by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. They have also visited with some senior state legislators.

On May 29, Sidhu Moose Wala was shot and killed in Mansa. Unidentified perpetrators opened fire on Moose Wala, wounding him with 24 bullets, according to the post-mortem investigation.

Sidhu Moose Wala died of "Haemorrhagic shock due to antemortem firearm injures described and sufficient to cause death in the ordinary course of nature," according to the post-mortem report.

Likewise, Sidhu Moose Wala's bhog and antim ardaas will be held in Mansa, with an appeal to the public and youth to wear turbans during the ceremony to honour Sidhu Moose Wala, according to sources.
