AR Rahman Open to Collaboration with Taylor Swift, Praises Her Rise to Billionaire Status
Renowned music composer AR Rahman is riding high on the success of his recent collaboration with director Imtiaz Ali and actor Diljit Dosanjh in the musical biopic "Amar Singh Chamkila." However, Rahman expressed his openness to a potential collaboration with global pop sensation Taylor Swift amidst his achievements.
In a recent interview, Rahman lauded Swift as an inspiration and expressed his willingness to create any type of song she desires. "Whatever she wants! If she wants a dance number, it will be a dance number, if she wants a romantic number, it will be a romantic number. She writes the lyrics anyway!" Rahman shared enthusiastically.
Swift's recent entry into Forbes’ 2024 billionaires list has drawn attention worldwide. With a staggering net worth of approximately $1.1 billion, she joins the ranks of esteemed personalities like Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, and George Lucas. Rahman commended Swift's philanthropic endeavours, drawing parallels to the late Michael Jackson's charitable contributions. "If people take the power of music to do good things, it is great... It is nice to see Taylor attaining that. She has gone through so much. She got cheated and made a comeback. She is a good case study and inspiration for musicians," Rahman remarked.
On the professional front Taylor Swift prepares for the release of her upcoming album, "The Tortured Poets Department," on April 19, Rahman continues to enjoy the success of "Amar Singh Chamkila" and his work in the film "Maidaan," which premiered recently in cinemas.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, "Amar Singh Chamkila" is a biographical film depicting the life of the legendary Punjabi artist and electrifying live-stage performer from the 1980s. Starring Diljit Dosanjh as the lead and Parineeti Chopra as his on-screen wife, the film has garnered positive feedback from both audiences and critics.
