Ranbir Kapoor in Legal Trouble: Complaint Filed for Hurting Religious Sentiments in Viral Christmas Video

Ranbir Kapoor in Legal Trouble: Ranbir Kapoor is grabbing attention not just for his film 'Animal' but also for his recent Christmas festivities with his family. A complaint has been filed against the Bollywood actor and his family in Mumbai, alleging that they have offended religious sentiments during their traditional Christmas celebration. The reason is a viral video from the festivities in which Kapoor was seen pouring liquor on a Christmas cake while exclaiming "Jai Mata Di."

Ranbir Kapoor Christmas Celebration:

The Kapoor family had gathered for their traditional Christmas party, and moments from the joyous occasion quickly spread across social media. A particular video gained attention, featuring an enthusiastic Ranbir Kapoor eagerly lighting the Christmas cake on fire with a kitchen lighter. His excitement was evident, and at one point, he exclaimed, 'Jai Mata Di,' expressing his eagerness to partake in the festive treat.

Social Media Reaction:

While many enjoyed the lighthearted video, some netizens criticized the actor for celebrating Christmas and uttering 'Jai Mata Di' while igniting the cake. The mixed reactions added a layer of controversy to the otherwise cheerful celebration.

Complaint Filed against Ranbir Kapoor

On Wednesday, a complaint was filed by Sanjay Tiwari at Ghatkopar police station through his lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra. According to reports, Tiwari claimed that the video showed Kapoor pouring liquor on the cake and setting it on fire while chanting "Jai Mata Di." The complaint argues that such actions go against Hindu traditions, where the fire god is invoked before other deities, and accused the Kapoor family of deliberately using intoxicants during a celebration of another religion.

Currently, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in connection with the complaint. The legal implications of the complaint remain to be seen, and the matter is currently under investigation.

Ranbir Kapoor and his wife, Alia Bhatt, were part of the family’s annual Christmas brunch at the late actor Shashi Kapoor’s residence. The event was attended by Karisma Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Babita, Aadar Jain, Agastya Nanda, and Navya Naveli Nanda.
