Amar Singh Chamkila Trailer Launch: Diljit Dosanjh, the beloved actor and singer, was recently seen at the trailer launch event for his upcoming movie "Amar Singh Chamkila." Held at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai's Bandra area, the event was attended by Diljit along with the film's director Imtiaz Ali, acclaimed composer AR Rahman, and actress Parineeti Chopra.
During the event, Imtiaz Ali shared with the media how Diljit deeply immersed himself in the character of Amar Singh Chamkila, forgetting his own immense stardom. He praised Diljit for his dedication, stating that although Diljit had already achieved great success, his portrayal of Chamkila marked just the beginning of a global phenomenon. These heartfelt words from Imtiaz moved Diljit to tears, showing his genuine emotional response on stage.
The trailer of the movie gives a glimpse into the life of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who rose from obscurity to become one of the most celebrated artists of his time. Set in Punjab during the 1980s, the film primarily communicates in Hindi to cater to a wider audience.
In the movie, Diljit portrays the titular role of Amar Singh Chamkila, depicting him as a charming and determined individual who faces opposition for his music, considered by some as controversial. Despite facing threats and protests, Amar Singh Chamkila remains committed to his artistry. Parineeti Chopra plays the role of Amarjot, his wife, and both actors have lent their voices to the original compositions of Chamkila in the film.
