The swift response of the Mumbai police and the subsequent claim by Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, added layers of complexity to the situation. With the involvement of more than 10 teams from the Crime Branch, the day unfolded with a flurry of activities.
The attack, orchestrated by two unidentified individuals on motorcycles, prompted an extensive investigation by the Crime Branch. Initial findings suggested a deliberate act, with four rounds fired outside the Galaxy Apartment, where Salman Khan resides. Fortunately, no one was harmed, but the discovery of a live cartridge underscored the gravity of the incident.
According to preliminary reports from the Delhi Police, one of the suspects captured on CCTV footage is believed to be from Gurugram. This individual is allegedly involved in various criminal activities, including serious offenses like murders and robberies. Notably, he is also wanted in connection with the murder of a businessman in Gurugram, Sachin Munjal.

Anmol Bishnoi, purportedly through a Facebook post, claimed responsibility for the shooting. His post, written in Hindi, hinted at underlying tensions and conveyed a veiled threat to Salman Khan. This assertion compounded existing concerns, especially considering Salman Khan's past interactions with Lawrence Bishnoi, who had reportedly targeted him due to the actor's involvement in a controversial hunting incident.
Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) disclosed that Salman Khan was among the top targets on Lawrence Bishnoi's list. This revelation stemmed from the actor's involvement in the 1998 black buck hunting case, which allegedly angered the Bishnoi community.
Following previous threats, Salman Khan's security status had been upgraded to Y by the Mumbai Police. However, this recent incident prompts a review of his security arrangements. Currently, he is accompanied by a team of eleven security personnel, including commandos and Personal Security Officers (PSOs), with his vehicle fully equipped for protection.

With the Mumbai Crime Branch now leading the investigation, the focus intensifies on unravelling the motives behind the attack. Fresh leads, including new CCTV footage, have emerged, adding momentum to the probe. While the police have yet to confirm the authenticity of these images, the spotlight remains on unravelling the complexities surrounding the incident, especially regarding the alleged involvement of individuals from Gurugram.
