Shah Rukh Khan is eagerly awaiting the release of his upcoming movie 'Dunki,' which marks his very first collaboration with renowned director Rajkumar Hirani. However, a recent video of Shah Rukh Khan has taken social media by storm, where he revealed his unique reason for not visiting Kashmir earlier.
During a previous appearance on the popular TV show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati,' hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan disclosed why he had never been to Kashmir before. He explained, "My father's mother was from Kashmir, and he told me that in my life, I must visit three places, whether he's alive or not. I must see Istanbul, Rome in Italy, and Kashmir. You can visit the other two without me, but never go to Kashmir without me."
Shah Rukh Khan went on to share, "I had many opportunities, and friends invited me, and my family even went on vacations to Kashmir, but I never went because my father had instructed me not to visit without him. He wanted to show me Kashmir himself."
However, Shah Rukh Khan later revealed that the late filmmaker Yash Chopra, who was like a father figure to him, had a significant influence on his decision to visit Kashmir. He had to go to Kashmir to shoot his film 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan.'
After visiting the stunning valley, Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, "My father's one unfulfilled wish was to bring me to Kashmir because his mom was from here. Now I am here, it feels like I am in his big, strong arms."
In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan also filmed for Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming movie 'Dunki' in Kashmir. Numerous pictures and videos of Shah Rukh Khan and his co-star Taapsee Pannu surfaced online, creating excitement among fans.
Meanwhile, Dunki's Drop 1 was released on SRK's birthday which was a surprise for all his fans. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film will be released on Christmas 2023.
