The young girl from Punjab made the whole nation proud by winning the Miss Universe title for India after 21 long years. It is a proud moment for India but at the same time, it is a bigger pride for Punjabi as Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu belongs to Punjab.

The winning moment was extremely special for Harnaaz as she shouted out long ‘Chak De Phatte’ also leaving Urvashi Rautela in tears. Urvashi Rautela former Miss World was present there in the panel of Judges who got emotional seeing India win the Miss Universe title.
Ms. Sandhu was extremely confident in her final round and her last answer only made her win. All those who know less about Sandhu should know it was not a short way to victory but a long road of efforts covered by a young girl.

Talking about Ms. Sandhu’s birth she was born and brought up in Chandigarh, belonging to a Sikh family.

Talking about her biggest inspiration Harnaaz told in one of the interviews that her biggest inspiration is her mother Amrit Kaur Sandhu. Her mother is a gynecologist who reaches out to people to raise awareness about breast cancer and also menstrual health.

Followed by this next year, she became the winner of the Max Emerging Star Finale. There was no stopping for the Miss Universe as she then won Femina Miss India Punjab 2019 and made it to the top 12 list of Femina Miss India.

The success was on her way as she entered the list of Top 15 Desirable Women in 2019 along with Sargun Mehta, Shehnaz Gill and Sonam Bajwa.

Ms. Sandhu became the third most desirable woman in 2020, stepping forward towards her dream title. Now Miss Universe 2021, Sandhu is pursuing her Masters's in Public Administration.
