"Ayushmann and the producers have been in talks about this movie for several months. With negotiations now reaching an advanced stage, only a few formalities remain before his official confirmation. They firmly believe that Ayushmann, who also bats left-handed, is the perfect candidate to step into Ganguly's shoes. Fondly known as 'Dada,' Sourav Ganguly has also given his approval to Ayushmann's casting and will soon meet the actor in person. Prior to commencing filming, Ayushmann will undergo months of intensive cricket training," reveals a source.

Initially, there were talks of Vikramaditya Motwane, the director of Jubilee, helming the project. However, he declined the opportunity, and now Aishwarya Rajinikanth is being considered to take on the role of director.
