But wait, did you know that Anil Kapoor was not the first choice for Nayak? Yes you read it right! In an interview recently, Anil Kapoor told that the film was earlier read to Amir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan who declined the role.

“I pursued Shankar (director) after Nayak was passed up by both Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh. To this date, I’m glad I did” said Anil Kapoor.

When asked about the film's significance, the Nayak actor stated, "To be honest, the only thing we knew while making the film was that it would be something special. Something for everyone. We had no idea it would get as much attention as it did. I believe it is because the subject matter is so relevant and relatable. The people, the government, and the tensions that exist between them will always be a source of great interest and personal relevance."
