Asha Bhosle breaks down remembering late Lata Mangeshkar, says 'Now we have become orphans'

Legendary singer Asha Bhosle broke down into tears while remembering Late Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar during the occasion of launching the picture of 'The Nightingale of India' at Deenanath Mangeshkar Auditorium.

During the event, Asha Bhosle, Bikram Gokhale, and the family members of Lata Mangeshkar, including Hridaynath Mangeshkar and Usha Mangeshkar became emotional.

It was on February 6, the late Lata Mangeshkar had passed away and departed for a heavenly abode. The photo of Lata didi was released by actor Vikram Gokhale. Lata Mangeshkar and Gokhale's families have been linked for over seven decades.

Vikram Gokhale became teary-eyed and said, "My father and Dinanath Mangeshkar Ji's family are related for decades. We used to call Dinanath ji as Dina Aba. In fact, Dinanath Ji was my father's Guru and he gave my father the musical instrument which he did riyaz. I am grateful that Hridaynathji gave me this opportunity to unveil this photograph," he stated.

Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle became equally emotional. Lata Mangeshkar's untimely death was excruciating for her, and she broke down into tears while speaking to the media persons. Asha Bhosle said, "Whenever I used to go wherever I used to take blessings from Didi; she used to tell me not to touch her feet always, 'My blessings are always with you whether you come here or not'. Now, after her demise, whose blessings should I seek? Whom should I tell my troubles? When we were very young, then Baba left, and after Mai, Lata didi took care of us all like a father, and today we all have become orphans. I never thought that all this would happen so soon. She should have been with us guiding us for at least a few more years."

Vikram Gokhale, Asha Bhosle, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar, Bharti Mangeshkar, Ashish Shellar, Roopkumar, Sonali Rathod, Adinath Mangeshkar, Krishna Mangeshkar, Zanai Bhosle, Anuja Bhosle, and Mayuresh Pai were present on the occasion.
