Bhumi Pednekar is now roped for Anubhav Sinha's upcoming sociopolitical drama "Bheed," which also stars Rajkummar Rao.
Sinha and Bhushan Kumar, who previously backed the filmmaker's "Thappad," will co-produce the film.
Bheed is being produced by Bhushan Kumar. The filming will begin in November 2021.
Anubhav Sinha, who directed the film, stated, "Bhumi was the perfect choice for a film of this nature." She is a confident actress and a woman with a strong personality. That is the quality this character must possess. I couldn't have asked for a better cast. These are performers who not only shine every time they appear on screen, but who also elevate the written word to create magic on screen.
I consider myself fortunate to be part of this team. I couldn't have asked for a better collaborator than Bhushan Kumar, who has been incredibly helpful at every stage of the process. He is the type of visionary who believes in the divine, Anubhav Sinha further stated.
The confirmation of the same was announced by T-Series. Sharing a montage of Bhumi and Raj Kumar Rao, the caption read as, "A groundbreaking social drama deserves the very best. This is why we are so happy to have the ever-so versatile @bhumipednekar join team #Bheed!
Rajkummar Rao, on the other hand, has Hum Do Humare Do, Monica O My Darling, and Hit: The First Casedagger in the works.

Surprisingly, Raj and Bhumi are already working on a film called Badhaai Do. A spiritual sequel to Ayushmann's 2018 film Badhaai Ho, it stars Rajkummar as Shardul, a police officer, and Bhumi as Sumi, a physical education teacher.
