Adipurush: Kriti Sanon steals everyone's heart as 'Janaki' from Om Raut's upcoming drama
On the occasion of Maa Sita Navmi, the team behind the upcoming mythological drama 'Adipurush' has released a new motion poster and audio teaser. The poster features Kriti Sanon in the role of Janaki, also known as Sita, the consort of Lord Ram, played by Prabhas in the film. The soulful melody of 'Ram Siya Ram' is sung and composed by Sachet-Parampara and perfectly captures the spirit of Janaki's devotion towards Raghav.
Kriti shared the poster on her Instagram profile, where she also changed her profile picture to the image of Janaki. In the caption, she wrote, "Amar hain naam, jay siya ram... The eternal chant, Jai Siya Ram." Kriti's portrayal of Janaki represents purity, divinity and courage.
Directed by Om Raut, 'Adipurush' is based on the epic Ramayana and also stars Sunny Singh as Lakshman and Saif Ali Khan as Ravan. The film is set to premiere at the Tribeca Festival in New York on June 13, and Prabhas expressed his excitement about the global exposure the film will receive. "To see our Indian films, especially one that is so close to me, Adipurush, reach the global stage makes me extremely proud not only as an actor but as an Indian too. I look forward to seeing the audience response at Tribeca," he said.
Apart from 'Adipurush', Prabhas will also be seen in the upcoming films 'Salaar' and 'Project K' opposite Deepika Padukone. Kriti is currently shooting for 'The Crew' with Kareena Kapoor and Tabu, and has completed shooting for an untitled film with Shahid Kapoor.
