Why viewers are unhappy with Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar 2’s Jio Hotstar OTT release?

After a successful run in theatres, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge finally arrived on Jio Hotstar on June 4, giving fans a chance to watch the film from home. Many viewers were excited to stream the action-packed spy thriller, while others looked forward to watching it again. However, the movie's digital release did not go as smoothly as expected.

Instead of making the film available for regular on-demand viewing right away, Jio Hotstar chose to premiere it through a live stream. The movie was only available as a live broadcast on June 4 and could be watched normally from June 5. This decision left many subscribers frustrated.

Audience unhappy with Dhurandhar 2 OTT release

Several viewers took to social media to express their disappointment. Many felt that the live-stream format removed one of the biggest benefits of OTT platforms the freedom to watch content whenever they want. Users pointed out that anyone who joined the stream late could not start the movie from the beginning and had to wait until the live premiere ended.

Others were unhappy because the live version included commentary breaks, which they believed interrupted the film and affected the overall viewing experience. Some viewers questioned the reason behind the strategy, calling it confusing and unnecessary.

Apart from the streaming format, users also complained about technical issues. A number of viewers reported poor audio quality, saying that dialogue volume was too low while background music sounded unusually loud. According to them, these sound fluctuations made it difficult to enjoy the movie.

However, the film is now available to watch on Jio Hotstar.
