Controversy Surrounds Yaariyan 2 as Police Complaint Targets 'Saure Ghar' Scene for Offensive Depiction of 'Kirpan'
The sequel of Yaariyan is grabbing attention and media with each of it's new releases, giving the audience it's peekaboo moments to create the urge of curiosity among the fanatics. After sharing the first poster and teaser of the movie earlier this month, the makers have now dropped it's first musical number 'Saure Ghar' two days back. After a lot of anticipation, the makers have dropped the new song calling it as the biggest family musical of the year.

The Raised Issue
Just after a day of it's newly launched song, the 'Saure Ghar' of Yaariyan 2 has embedded itself through a new controversy. As per the freshly served records, the Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC) has made a serious allegation in the police regarding a visual within the song, which has hurt numerous religious sentiments as stated. The complaint has rose regarding the use of Kirpan (A sword-symbol of Sikhism) in an objectional way is one of the visuals of 'Saure Ghar'.
As per the latest report, a police complaint has been filed by the SGPC regarding the matter. Taking over the social media handle, the religious group has shared their issue on X and wrote, "We raise our strong objection to these visuals filmed, published in Saure Ghar song of Yaariyan 2 film directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru @SapruAndRao, as actor is seen wearing Sikh Kakkar (symbol of Sikh faith) ‘kirpan’ in a highly objectionable manner which cannot be accepted”.
Ban Yaariyan 2?
This was not it. Amid the raised objection, they also demanded banning such a movie which goes beyond relegious sentiments. Further the satement continued and quoted, “This has seriously hurt the religious sentiments of Sikh community across the globe. Only an initiated Sikh has the right to wear Kirpan as per Sikh Code of Conduct of Akal Takht Sahib and the right given by the Constitution of India. This video song is public at the official @YouTube channel of @TSeries, which must take it down with immediate effect. If any other platform is used to publish this video song with the said objectionable scenes must also take it down. We are immediately raising this objection through all channels to the Government and digital platforms. If the videos are not taken down from public view, we shall initiate the legal proceedings are per law for hurting religious sentiments of minority Sikh community".

What Yaariyan team has to say!
However taking the immediate concern of the Sikh Community, the makers have tried put over their point of view in front of the masses and called it a 'Khukri' instead of a 'Kirpan'. Hence they pleaded for the misunderstanding and cleared their zero intentions of hurting any religious beliefs. To which the SGPC group condemned their clarifications ‘illogical’ as the community is well known of the differences between 'Kirpan' and a 'Khukri'.
With a blockbuster looking ensemble already, the film indeed looks enthralling for the audience. Starry presence of actor such as Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezaan Jaffri and Pearl V Puri along side other leads such as Yash DasGupta, Anaswara Ranjan, Warina Hussain and Priya Varrier, the overall casts gives wings of hope for an another Yaariyan franchise success. The makers have slatted to release the movie on October 20, 2023.
