On the fateful night of December 2, 1984, a pesticide factory owned by the American Union Carbide Corporation released a deadly gas called methyl isocyanate. This catastrophe resulted in the poisoning of over half a million people, with an official death toll surpassing 5,000.
Even decades later, thousands of survivors, as well as their children and grandchildren, continue to grapple with severe health issues, including cancer, blindness, respiratory problems, compromised immune systems, and neurological disorders caused by the gas leak.
'The Railway Men' is set to premiere on Netflix on November 18.
