Dhaakad OTT Release: After downfall at box office, Kangana Ranaut-starrer finds no takers for OTT, satellite rights

While Kangana Ranaut-starrer 'Dhaakad' had a very bad business at the box office across India, people are looking for its OTT platform release date. Since the movie didn't work well at the box office and was dull in front of Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, people want to watch the film on either phones or laptops/TV.

Reportedly Dhaakad is a flop as its lifetime collection at the box office is expected to be less than Rs 3 crore. Several shows of the film were cancelled due to zero audience while the screen counts for the film reduced from Sunday and more so from Monday.

On its opening day, the film collected a mere Rs. 50 lakhs on Friday and showed no growth on Saturday and Sunday. The lifetime collection of the film is expected to be less than Rs. 3 crores.

As per Bollywood Hungama, Dhaakad is expected to not even earn much from the sale of satellite and digital rights.

As per the report's sources, the satellite and digital rights were not sold before the release in the hope of a better deal and that's why there was no mention of the OTT release and the satellite partner in the opening of the film.

Usually, the digital rights of the film get sold before the release and the revenue earned by selling the film to OTT platforms and TV helps makers to make even more profit.

The source further stated that following Dhaakad's bad run at the box office, the producers are expected not to be paid a handsome amount for the OTT and satellite rights.

Meanwhile, the makers are discussing the deal with Amazon Prime Video and Zee5 will reportedly come for the deal again.
