Dia Mirza and Vaibhav Rekhi welcomes their first child; shares the first glimpse!
Dia Mirza, and her husband, Vaibhav Rekhi, have welcomed their first child. On Wednesday, two months after the baby's birth, she shared the news on Twitter, along with a photo of his hand. In a note, they announced that he has been given the name Avyaan Azaad Rekhi.
Dia Mirza stated that Avyaan was born prematurely on May 14 in a statement she shared on social media.

"Our heartbeat, our son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi was born on May 14th. Having arrived early, our little miracle has since then been cared for by tireless nurses and doctors in the Neonatal ICU" wrote Dia Mirza while sharing the first glimpse of her newborn baby.

"A sudden appendectomy during my pregnancy and a subsequent and very severe bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life threatening. Thankfully, the timely care and intervention by our doctor ensured the safe birth of our baby via an emergency C-section," she further revealed.
She also expressed her gratitude for everyone's affection and care.

Dia announced her pregnancy after a month after she and Vaibhav tied the knot. The couple got married on February 16 in a private wedding ceremony in the garden of her apartment complex, with only a few close friends. The actor also made headlines when she decided to have the ceremony conducted by a priestess.
