Raju Srivastava death news: Comedian-actor Raju Srivastava, who spread happiness and laughter throughout his life, took his last breath at the age of 58, on Wednesday. He was admitted to AIIMS in Delhi following a heart attack on August 10. However, a few people know that Raju Srivastava was not his real name.

Yes, you read it right. Raju Srivastava was not his real name. Raju received widespread recognition following his participation in the first season of the comedy show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' in 2005.

Besides, he was part of the entertainment industry since the late 1980s. Of yes, the real name of the comedian.

Well, Raju Srivastava's real name was Satya Prakash Srivastava. Raju was born on December 25, 1963. He belonged to a middle-class family in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Similarly, only a few people know that his father, Ramesh Chandra Srivastava, was a poet who was popularly known as Balai Kaka.

After completing his studies in Kanpur, the comedian moved to Mumbai aspiring to become a comedian. He kicked off his career with small roles in Bollywood films.

 

He made his first appearance in the film industry with the 1998 film 'Tezaab', followed by the 1989 Salman Khan-starrer 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' and 'Baazigar' in 1993. Besides, he was also seen in 'Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa', 'Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon', 'Big Brother' and 'Bombay to Goa' among several other films.

On July 1, 1993, he got married to Shikha who belonged to Lucknow. The duo had two children, Antara and Ayushman.
