Janhvi Kapoor paid a tribute to her late mother Sridevi on Instagram on the occasion of her mother's birthday. Sridevi died in Dubai in 2018 while attending a family wedding. Her death was determined to be due to a drowning accident.
Sharing an old picture with Sridevi, the Roohi actress wrote, "Happy birthday Mumma. I miss you. Everything is for you, always, every day. I love you. ❤️"
Janhvi posted a picture of a handwritten note, probably written by her mother, on Sridevi's third death anniversary earlier this year. The note read as, "I love you my labbu. You are the best baby in the world"
Janhvi made her acting debut in Dhadak in 2018, just months after Sridevi passed away. In an interview Janhvi talked about that time. "I was quite disconnected from what was happening on around me because of what was going on in my personal life."
In reflection, I should have paid more attention. I would have gone above and beyond to make a stronger impact. "I was getting some attention, but my head was elsewhere entirely" Jahnvi said further.
Following Dhadak, Janhvi appeared in filmmaker Zoya Akhtar's short film Ghost Stories, which was part of the Netflix anthology. She was seen earlier this year in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, which she followed up with a leading part in.
Meanwhile on the work front, she was last seen in horror-comedy ‘Roohi’ alongside Raj Kumar Rao and Varun Sharma.
The filming of Good Luck Jerry was completed in March. She was supposed to return to the set of Dostana 2, but Dharma Productions announced that the film will be recast.
