False news ruins an actor’s life and career: Raveena Tandon

Raveena Tandon, the heart-throb of 90s generation still seems to be carrying the ache from her bitter experiences pertaining to false reporting by the media in the past years.

In one of the interviews with a leading magazine, Raveena confessed to have suffered from poor mental health due to false reporting and lies spread about her which she couldn’t fact-check due to lack of means during those times.

While recollecting the unpleasant incidents of yesteryears, Raveena shared that she wishes to go back in the past and sue the ones who spread false reports about her. She added that they (90s press) would tarnish her image by body shaming and attacking on personal grounds. At the same time, she appreciated the technological advancements as celebrities these days take to social media to clarify their stance.

Raveena also shared a story of a veteran actress’ sister who attempted to take her life by overdosing on sleeping pills as she was reported (by the media) to have seduced her brother-in-law. According to her, the female editors filing such stories are more to blame as it is expected for a woman to stand for another.

Thanking those who tried to pull her down in the past, Raveena exclaimed that because of these people she learnt to rise in her career and personal life. She also expressed gratitude towards her well wishers who never left her side despite grey skies. She added that because of those who tried to weaken her by falsifying facts, she emerged stronger than before.

On the career front however, Raveena can be seen in a web series Aranyak where she shares the screen with Parambrata Chattopadhyay. The series that was released earlier this month however got a mixed review from the audience. Her fans will get to see her again in KGF: Chapter 2 to be released in April 2022, wherein she will be seen alongwith Sanjay Dutt.
