For his role as boxer Aziz Ali in Farhan Akhtar's recently released film Toofaan, he underwent an excessive physical transformation. On Monday, the actor revealed how he gained and lost weight over the span of 18 months in order to become the legendary Aziz Ali.
On July 16, Toofaan was released on Amazon Prime Video. Farhan Akhtar pulls the entire film on his shoulders and embarks on a one-man performance for the audience. Farhan underwent a major body change for his role as a boxer in the film, gaining 15 kg in six weeks. He posted an Instagram montage showcasing his weight gain journey from 69 kg to 85 kg and then returning to 76 kg.
He wrote, "The many shapes and sizes of Ajju aka Aziz aka Toofaan. What a ride. 18 months of relentless work but worth every drop of sweat, every sore muscle and every pound gained and lost. ✊🏽"
Before the release of Toofaan, Amazon Prime Video's official page published a video of Farhan Akhtar's rigorous training sessions for the sports drama. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film's director, also spoke on Farhan Akhtar's transformation into a boxer for Toofaan.
Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur, have also starred in Toofaan, which is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
Farhan Akhtar also credited, Trainers Samir Jaura, Drew Neal, and Anand Kumar who helped him in his physical change.
