'Maverick Commissioner: The IPL — Lalit Modi Saga': While IPL 2022 is making fans go gaga, Vishnu VardhanInduri is all set to make a film on the Indian Premier League that will portray the creation of IPL and insights about its founder Lalit Modi. Who is Lalit Modi?

While giving the information, Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote: "'83', 'THALAIVII' MAKER'S NEXT FILM ON IPL - LALIT MODI... The book Maverick Commissioner: The IPL - Lalit Modi Saga, written by sports journalist #BoriaMajumdar, will be adapted into a feature film by #VishnuVardhanInduri [producer of #83TheFilm and #Thalaivii]."

"#MaverickCommissioner: The IPL - Lalit Modi Saga is a fascinating account of the creation of #IPL and insights about its founder #LalitModi," he added.

 

Who is Lalit Modi?

Lalit Kumar Modi is a businessman and cricket administrator who is currently absconded. He was the founder and the first chairman of the Indian Premier League. He ran the tournament for three years until 2010. Also, he served as the Chairman of the Champions League during 2008–10.

Everybody loves IPL because of the limited over format but can imagine a 50-over IPL format? Sounds weird, right?

Months after the 50-over world cup, Lalit Modi had proposed an inter-city 50-over tournament in 1996 with overseas players and local players.
